This doesn't surprise me at all. It is trivial to run a site on app engine that can handle hundreds of requests a second continuously without leaving the free tier. Sure, when the change from billing CPU time to instance hours came in

I don't need the extra security provided by end-to-end encryption for the vast majority of emails I receive and send. I value that ability to search/filter these emails far more than I value the security. For the few emails I send

Based on logs it would seem that the crawler, or at least parts of it are written in golang. When following some redirects the useragent would be cleared and would identify itself as golang.

This seems like it should be a dead simple chrome/safari extension. Not an app. The only thing this app appears to do is let you "tag" repositories.

They appear to be using Google Compute instances (based upon the IP addresses) to create TOR relays but since they are not exit nodes I'm not really sure what they are hoping to achieve.

Just use the CDN copy of jquery and it will be cached in the users browser already since so many websites already use it.
