I don't have solidified idea for reinventing web dev but I'm oscillating between two opposing strategies. One would be to have a micro app server in hardware - think RPi nano or even less, where each http session gets a dedicated

I get the sentiment. I understand the problem. The amount of disjointed tools that need to be strung together to build the proverbial todo list in the modern web ecosystem is beyond ridiculous. So much so that most of the people at my compa

Not at all. In the aggregate living organisms don't evolve to homogenize their output while vacuuming resources from more interesting pursuits. As for social/economic systems such as capitalism that's neither here nor there.

No journal is immune to being manipulated by skewed data. They (Lancet) in particular never truly lived down the vaccine-autism link fiasco. But again, I’m not going to declare that this data is cooked but I think it behooves us to approach

No question that Russia has some of the best minds in the world, still. But a big headline product like this would be incredibly tempting for the regime to exaggerate the efficacy of for propaganda reasons. That’s not to say the vaccine is

I know this is published in the Lancet but the data is coming purely from Russia. While it’s still a data point of sorts I think it’s really prudent for the rest of the world to try and reproduce these results before taking them at face val

I'm in the same boat as I went through multiple antidepressants with nothing to show for taking them over the last few years. The way I turned it around was self medication with microdosing THC. Not sure where you are but where I live

Wow, nearly the same experience here although my main aim was to alleviate the immense anxiety I faced for years. The various prescription drugs were not helping so I decided to self medicate and bought edibles when they became legal here.

It depends which model. I own an EV and speaking from experience. The stated range is easily 25-30% lower at highway speeds. That means yes, you often have to charge a Tesla every 200km when doing a road trip.

520 mile or 800+ km range is the kind of capacity that when available in cheaper vehicles will really push EV into the mainstream. At that point road trips are a non issue as you need a longer break at least every 500 km or so anyway. Charg

I think this is due to the exponential payoff in a success scenario. Especially in high tech where certain initiatives can have a “winner take all” effect. I find it completely unsurprising that internally the tech giants function like a cl

I maintain that the prudes want to keep cannabis illegal because unlike with alcohol most people don’t suffer from a cannabis hangover so there is no penalty for indulgence.

Rhythm, exercise, boxing, fencing games are second to none in VR thanks to the medium itself. They are much more compelling in VR vs jumping in front of a television set while waving a pair of Wii wands. The reason VR is struggling is the s

The problem is that workers get Manna in place of the human management - automated surveillance systems that track every moment of their working life and slice and dice this data to figure out who can be fired or harassed and where to tight
