Perhaps ironically, most Docker builds aren't deterministic. Run `docker build`, clear the cache, run it again five minutes later and you might not have a bit-compatible image because many images don't pin their base and pull fr

I was thinking about this from another thread (the Helix one). Initially, learning Helix broke my ability to use Vim, but now I flit back and forth between Helix and IdeaVim without thinking about it. Similarly, I switched to a split keyboa

Easy backups, especially for repos that use Git LFS. It's also nice to have a simple UI for browsing repos and project history. Soft Serve doesn't have built in CI/CD, but I plan on bolting on a lightweight solution there. I

For my private, personal Git server, I recently moved from Gitea to Soft Serve [1], and have enjoyed how light and fast it is. I have it hooked up via Tailscale (using TS_DEST_IP to forward traffic [2]), so it has its own IP on the network

The post is about using GitHub's integrated Copilot tooling, where each issue gets its own instance presumably running in a sandbox. This sidesteps the issues you're talking about here.

I ran into this (initially surprising) behavior of using Restic [1] to make backups of services on Kubernetes, figured I'd write it up for others. [1] https://github.com/restic/restic/

Stalwart is a mail server program, not a live email server you can pay someone money to use. One can of course use Stalwart to run a hosted email service.

I think GP is calling out the highly non-linear nature of the pricing. $20 for the first TB and then $50/100 GB after is a 25x jump in pricing. Linear usage cost makes sense, but the more common/sane thing is cheaper unit pricing
