This seems to be less about how a baby saved the day, and more about how an employee exfiltrated data from her employer. As a cybersecurity guy at a large financial institution, I wonder what Pixar’s policy was about the matter then, and wh

What happened to “Make each program do one thing well. To do a new job, build afresh rather than complicate old programs by adding new "features".”? If it’s too tough to integrate with other tools like jq, maybe that could provide

I didn’t think Linux ran on an SX. Thought it required the mmu in the DX for 32-bit protected mode. Might be misremembering though.

#9 took me years to realize. Even more when you have an idea, share it, someone who’s not in the corner takes it and runs with it. That experience is even more isolating because the immediate reaction is to just not share any more ideas. It

Recent Linux patches allow the scheduler to only schedule processes with the same seed on the same core. The “seed” would be something tied to the user, or something else… I don’t think they’re merged yet… but that might be a solution.

Years ago I had the vibrator in my phone go out as a result of being on my handlebars. Was really surprised to not see something about this come out earlier tbh.

My experience: Apple has been amazing. I bought a previous gen mbp from bhphoto that was heavily discounted. It arrived and was DoA. I brought it into an Apple store and they gave me the latest gen and discounted the money I paid bhphoto an

Why? Surely them blocking buys for any individual (or even small group of them) is within their rights per their customer agreement. But blocking them en masse is market manipulation, and their tos isn’t going to protect them from that.

Wow, this. One thing I didn’t see mentioned was “0”. You mentioned it, but it didn’t grok to something I know to work in some implementations: “ping 0” behaves like “ping 127.0.0.1”.
