Perhaps in major upgrades. Even there, scan the database again. Not sure how tags are handled. For personal use, the links are usually needed for a week or two.

These don’t sit on the edge of the internet , and typically are not called edge devices. It’s usually a more powerful device such as a router or mini server between LAN and internet.

They have older CPUs, that consume more power, support limited RAM, and have power supplies that may fail anytime.

You mean Tailscale generates a hidden master key to which all traffic is encrypted? This would be a joke back door! Any link to discussions around this?

Narcissism as a trait has a spectrum. A good percentage of the population falls somewhere in there. For example, Trump has narcissistic traits. Wolfram seems to have a high opinion of himself, disproportional to his achievements. Narcissism

Wouldn’t Tailscale be a better solution than Teleport? Instead of SSH, web apps and some applications, it covers everything. No open ports, ACL, no config, etc.

Are Lightsail buckets which have predictable prices at risk too? If there are limits which are surpassed, S3 charges may be incurred.

The technology is there, but Linux desktop lags behind in making use of it. ChromeOS and android take something like Gentoo Linux, enforce SeLinux and sandbox the applications. In Linux, there is SeLinux and AppArmor but few apps have profi

Ubuntu Core, all-snap and immutable , is coming, perhaps this October.

That’s guaranteed to happen. Even beyond that, how are developers going to earn a living with FOSS, at least with open licensing? We have seen maintainers burnt out. It takes work to write code.

So it will be similar to ChromeOS and Fedora. Full sandboxing, secure boot rooted in hardware, immutable. Frankly, it’s a good transition (even though it seems snaps aren’t much liked in HN. Looks like they are here to stay).

I haven’t used copilot. Isn’t it collecting a lot code from the Internet and combining to make auto complete suggestions? I just don’t see how it could think and write new code like a human developer would. Any feedback from copilot users?

Not currently. End to end encryption might be an enterprise feature in the future. If you don’t need access via web interface, you can encrypt your files using cryptomator synced to Dropbox.

It seems to be a CEO issue. Nextcloud needs to focus on a replacement of Dropbox, which is fast, easy to install, secure, bug-free, and aesthetically appealing. In order words, replace only the Dropbox, not Dropbox and Microsoft and Google

I would put a couple HDDs into a synology, and install Tailscale. The experience has been better than cloud storage. Synchting will also beat them. Could be on an always-on MiniPC or PI with external drive.

You are right. Tunnel and TLS both end on Cloudflare. It’s not end to end. In fact CF scans the traffic supposedly for malware.
