Have you seen housing? https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2022/12/01/real-estate-... it's going to get hit even harder. Unemployment is low due to a lot of early retirement/retirement. I

We could easily flip this and ask how much money the Apache Software Foundation is willing to pay the Apache tribes to use their name.

The sad thing is many overdoses are due to people who quit, lose their tolerance, but take the same amount of their drug as when they were still actively using.

What made Figma was its ecosystem. That and it was impacting Adobe's bottom line were reasons for its acquisition IMHO. It'd be interesting to see what kind of locked in ecosystem OpenAI can build.

Programming doesn't have the tangible aspect of the examples you provided. If I make a bridge over the river with huge holes in it, you see them. With programming you don't see them until you run into them.

Twitter is so sad. It was so simple early on, then became complicated with misinformation, and now is a raging dumpster fire.

I'd argue that the Fed wasn't aggressive. If it were aggressive and did another 75 basis points inflation would stop and the next recession that's looming in Q1 or Q2 next year would have arrived.

Reinforced cabin doors and knowing that the terrorists want to kill everyone instead of taking hostages has changed the game. I'm not privy to what influences terrorists but it seems like they can no longer commandeer airplanes

You need to pay for content moderates to prevent lawsuits. Lawsuits are very expensive but less so when you say we had thousands of people working on it. It looks like you can post entire movies to 2 Minutes per clip onto Twitter right now.

You're right on this potentially being the worse purchase of all time. The purchase price of 44 Billion was overvalued. If the only thing Twitter is supposed to do is to move tweets around then there was a ton of bloat of developers wi

Apple could absolutely fire 80% of their engineers. It'd be stupid, but they could do it and look great for 6-12 months until everything starts to fall apart.

The Media listen to their customers no matter what. When they found that they got more eyeballs and revenue by talking about a certain former president, they covered him more. If you say Twitter and Elon you're going to get more clicks

Thank you for this common sense reply. Can you imagine someone wanting to roll their own Flask? Their own React? It's like most people here seem to be siths and only deal in absolutes.

I'm surprised that Toxoplasma wasn't discussed. It's associated with risk taking in humans. It'd be interesting to see if VCs ever start screening for it. From this article: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

As a reminder we vote with our dollars. Most people don't seem to care. I'd love it if Amazon or Target had a made in a democracy filter where it'd be easy to avoid supporting Winnie the Pooh directly or indirectly.
