Check out the source: "This code is not pretty, but it doesn't need to be. It's only been 6 hours, but based on funding patterns I should be able to raise a few million off of this ;). Yours, Banksy The Lucky Stiff" I concur, hard to see h

It depends on the topic of the book, of course, but some of the best computer science books I've read were written in the 70s and 80s (SICP, Dragon Book, etc.). The C programming language, one of the most popular languages in use today, has

That's an interesting point you bring up. Differentiating doctors is even harder than differentiating developers because at the least, developers can show you their work/portfolio. But for doctors, what are the external indicators of goodne

Nope. But that kind of money is a lot in India so the Indian press will make a big deal out of it. Of course, IIT grads who do their Master's in the US have been getting the same offers for a while but that's not the same as Facebook recr

It it possible to obtain the data for this somehow? I'd interested in making a different, more straightforward columnar text-only view.

Yep, this is a really bad way to present the information. Having a collapsible columnar list for each department would be orders of magnitude more useful. Plus it would be in HTML, and you could use ctrl/cmd+f to search for dissertations by

I like it. One minor suggestion: Put your < link > tags in the head because right now, I'm seeing ugly flashes of unstyled content ( http://www.bluerobot.com/web/css/fouc.asp/ ).

Pretty sure (but can't find source at the moment) that that number only reflects the cables on the wikileaks website itself. The number of cables released to newspapers is significantly higher but not a quarter million.

While I agree with you that the content of the last few releases have been fascinating but mostly inconsequential. The reason given for staggering the releases is a good one: if you released it all at the same time, each individual issue w

Not all of the quarter million cables have been leaked, if I recall correctly.

I don't know too much about face detection, can you anyone tell which algorithm the author is using? It doesn't work on a lot of pictures so I was wondering if this is the best face detection algorithm available?

I started notify.io with Jeff and you're misunderstanding what notify.io is. We have clients not just for the iPhone, but also for the Mac, Windows, Ubuntu and Android. You should check it out before describing it as "telephone clients".
