Building X is probably going to be trivial going into the future, yeah. Building and running future apps written for the Wayland will be a different beast though.

The oldest Teslas sold are now about 10 years old, and this epidemic of no-longer-holding-charge cars heading to battery replacement or scrapyards you speak of hasn't happened yet. From most accounts I've seen, the cars have 80-90

At some point you will have to either start building it for yourself or get someone to build it for you (when distros drop it from their repos). And that will become harder and harder as time goes by. Just recently apps I was building using

I honestly don't see how that is relevant, unless your perceived value of just watching videos ad free is lower than whatever price they have set; you can ignore that feature, right?

Those aren't from YouTube though. Hypothetically, you would need to pay the creator to make two versions of the video if you want unsponsored videos. Or, you know, just use SponsorBlock.

I was hoping they would continue pushing their kibosh on sharing passwords so I would delete my account permanently (I only pay because my siblings use my account), but it seems they stopped trying to force it in Kenya.

Discovered, not newly evolved. It doesn't matter that we know about a species or not, that causes no change in the level of biodiversity. Species becoming extinct on the other hand affects biodiversity.

That's the thing, using electric appliances and vehicles means you can actually rely on more than one source of energy (including oil, using generators). A gas heater uses nothing but gas. An electric heat pump can be powered by anythi

Why are you attributing being stuck to a grid to electricity and not oil or gas? It is far easier and cleaner to generate electricity in a distributed fashion (yes, even by burning oil and gas) than to be free of the oil and gas supply chai

LLM-unrelated stories here always have at least one comment saying "I asked GPT this-that-or-the-other and it said x." Why? What do these tangents add to the conversations?

True. Just don't try to paint it as some enlightened "rational" higher form of thought, as if trying to find peaceful solutions is somehow stupid. Just revel in the hate, and show everyone that you are exactly the same as tho
