Instead of the idea of universal basic income. I like to toy with the idea of somehow making it so people can work less. Such as a person works every other week and where someone else fills the role for the weeks the other person isn't

I assume the US has always been an oligarchy and never truly a democracy at the federal level. The American people just get to vote from either the two parties that desire whoever to be elected and where hundreds of millions are spent with

I'm unsure what to really make of this tragic incident. Does the social factors in the US make bankruptcy an extreme embarrassment? Should someone not even at the legal drinking age be able of gambling to such a debt. One thing I'

I've never known that people add sugar to their apples. I have lived in US & Canada and I find that odd people need to add sugar to enjoy an apple. Croissants or baguettes are not a daily thing if my assumption is correct. My exper

Your other points in this thread are inadequate. Compatibilism may make perfect sense for you but that doesn't render your opinion correct against someone that disagrees with your definition of free will and the common definition of fr

I'm not interested in what a compatibilist thinks. You're illogical by being one if you understand determinism. I'm not implying mob rule and that response makes me think you're a troll. The benefit of treating illnesses

The approach you’re proposing is illogical that’s why. Although everything is destined, that doesn’t negate the majority desire to treat a person who becomes ill and potentially very sick. Similar as someone that becomes mentally deranged b

No. Nobody being responsible doesn't negate rehabilitation for the person that is deranged. The goal of humanity is debatable but generally having everyone functioning in a way that doesn't harm others and including themselves is

I’ve given up on the idea of free will. I think the illusion does more harm than good to society but everyone deeply has been conditioned to think it’s true and things will never change in my lifetime. The article doesn’t do the necessary j

An anecdotal experience shouldn't leap to a nice world indeed if everyone tried something like I did. How did it inspire you to explore this universe more is what I'm interested in. edit: whoever disagrees should explain.

Well, it's alright to be a pessimist. Not everyone has to be an optimist and wrong to be happy. I consider myself a pessimist and I don't suffer from anxiety. So maybe the assumption is somewhat true.
