Hmm. I found myself nodding along with what this has to say about syntax design and the responsibilities of well-abstracted markup languages/converters, but I was also a little surprised by some apparent contradictions. > Great mark

Not sure I'd blame the cloud cover over the polar airmass wrt intensity. I think we had at least a couple sunny days in Houston (I remember opening blinds to get as much free heat as possible) and still didn't get out of the low 2

There could probably be a form of punishment or a group party game based on deciding whether or not a short option in a pipeline is a bug or correct (without comments, of course). Mix legacy/GNU/BSD/*box options if you'd

I agree that it feels like multiple projects are converging on something that is ripe (or close). I have done some deep-digging for markup languages and came across more than one project in this space. (I've added Jevko to my list; ht

This reminds me of Breck Yunits' Tree Notation ( https://treenotation.org/ ). Both seem to have a ~totalizing energy. Maybe some common cause. :)

To ~rectify some problems caused by the really large gap between the release of 2.3 and the next minor/major, the release of Nix 2.4 in November 2021 marked a move to a 6-week release cadence. Since they're driven by a calendar no

IDK about the details underlying the argument (whether the contract is actually structured this way, etc.), but https://mobile.twitter.com/nierobmitak/status/15747490369129... mentioned the possibility that the co

IDK how closely HAML hews to valid HTML elements/attrs/etc., but DMark ( https://denisdefreyne.github.io/d-mark/ ) is syntactically similar and very extensible.

A bit aside, but while working on a kind of CSS for a different purpose this past year I realized that there's no real distinction* between CSS-the-syntax and CSS-the-spec/rules/properties/selectors/etc. Perpetually

While there is certainly no place an airmass is supposed to be, this framing makes it sound like the problem would go away if we just updated our expectations. Do you think the problem would go away if we updated our expectations?

Completions have in general been of interest, though the shell-specific completions I've looked at so far were all too dynamic. I'd forgotten all about Fig since I saw your launch post here last year, so thanks for reminder. (I do

As I said, my usecase doesn't involve implementing the commands--it involves reliably identifying executables in the arguments to many different commands. I can't go rewrite awk, find, and sed with an opinionated cli module. I hav

https://nix.dev/tutorials/building-and-running-docker-images... asserts that you'd need a remote builder or cross-compiling. So it seems possible (unless maybe there are still enough cross-compile issues?)
