I have no basis for this, but I think this is also based on personal genetics or similar. Most of the bites I get seem to create no bumps or itchiness at all. When i was a kid, that wasn't the same, but now in my late 30s it seems to n

I don't think this is correct. The reasons economists separate capital and labor is that they do have different characteristics. Labor has skill, capital can have technology. Assets exist regardless of utilization, labor cannot be stor

I agree...but I also think it's a slow path to monetize OpenAI if they don't support some kind of channel to get paid by the sell-side. At least they offer a subscription and didn't jump to this as the only option. I'm o

As an aside, I think you could get a smart plug that would support a 15 amp load that could give you a notification if the load went away. Might not be perfect, but just reading about having a relationship with a washing machine in a theore

I think the idea is that explicit protections might encourage whistle-blowing. Especially since the domain is nascent enough that it's not clear what you'd blow the whistle on that might be unique to the companies that make founda

It's a great point. If you are interested, the book "why we make things, and why it matters" really resonated with me for this exact reason.

it is very difficult to determine this. Companies that do h1Bs are all multinational, so they can locate dev offshore and just say they did it internally. There's also the reality that even if you go out and try to evaluate the revenue

I see what you're saying here, and I guess I missed that point in the earlier post. Sorry. You are definitely right that the parties/political system does not make decisions in my favor (or really make decisions at all). Beyond ju

I'm no apologist for bad policy or lack of rigor on the side of the democrats, but the "Both sides" argument is tired and not particularly persuasive. What the Trump administration is doing is objectively unprecedented, and t

c'mon. IT outsourcing was done 100% to drive shareholder value, not to improve globalization. Don't drink your own kool aid. The party and its members engage in an incredible mutual hypocrisy with each other. It's all facile

not a developer here, but doesn't somebody make a service that can just "update" the app every day by moving functions around in the make file or something? Pointless rules deserve pointless solutions.

I mean, that is definitely true, but also kind of the observation that drives a lot of MAGA - visible progress in construction, engineering, and physical goods is an important part of how people "experience" the economy. It is eas
