“Australian Science Writing 2021” has a fascinating short story called “Hail Hydrogen: Powering the debate on future fuel” that touches on this exact project, and provides much more nuance and background detail that I found an enjoyable and

Apple has (supposedly) been working on VR/AR tech for quite some time, but the release date keeps getting pushed back. Latest reports suggest a 2022 launch for their VR headset. VR is in a very good place, but it still has a lot of jan

I've been my own boss for ~ 7 years. 2 of those as a contractor, the other 5 as a SAAS founder. I've been able to take any day off I want, but I have NEVER been able to switch off. It took me about 4-5 years to finally be relative

+1 for Humankind, read that at the beginning of the year in between lockdowns and it really helped make me feel more positive about humanity in general. It's not always as bad as we think it is. Struggled to get into his next book &quo

+1 against Sendgrid. They were a pretty good service when we signed up with them ~5 years ago (Paid plan with private IP), but ever since the Twilio acquisition their customer support and technical reliability has gone through the floor. Po

As someone that avidly uses goodreads (but wishes there was a non-Amazon option instead) this is really interesting. After signing up and using it for a bit, here are some thoughts: - Allow us to use progress instead of page. For kindle&#x2

I was pretty anti-VR until a friend wouldn’t shut up about how good the rift-S was and I finally picked one up this year during lockdown. Now I have an index a quest 2, and spend far, far too much time in VR. Nothing comes close to PCVR gam

Heroku is a god send for getting off the ground, however the biggest issue for us hasn’t been cost (it’s high, but worth every cent) it’s been server location. We’re an Aussie company, and a large percentage of our customers are in Australi

My 15" MBP (2019, 2.4 Ghz, 32 Gb, 560x 4 Gb) is probably the most disappointing machine I've ever owned. The keyboard is meh, the battery isn't great and it's no where near as performant or efficient as it should be for

This is inspiring and depressing to see (more inspiring). I've spent the last 4 years getting a bootsrapped saas off the ground. It's taken every ounce of my being to get us profitable, but we wouldn't be close to hitting 1 m
