Please read the first sentence of original comment. >For $699 you can build a Skylake based mini-ITX system that uses a real, PCI-Express 3.0 x16 video card (in the $225 price range for the video card alone) that will kick this thing

I am genuinely interested in such mini-ITX setup. Can you post an example please? Disclaimer: Last time I built my own computer was in 2004 or 2005, so I have no idea what to look for and what is considered powerful these days.

I was born in a post-USSR, but now European country, where payday loans entered the market in 2009. All I can say is - Google did it the right way, as this business model is very, very evil. Until strict regulation takes place, payday loans

Why is it a risk? If you're applying for a job and potential employers see your all-green contribution graph, there is a very high chance they'll ask you to elaborate on that. At least now it is possible to actually show metrics f

Turns out it's a Brave New World instead of 1984. And I am not surprised. A semi-totalitarian government based around ideology. If China's idealistic goal is set to be achieving communism through socialism, then what's better

Author himself stated that rm has a -P flag, that actually does the same thing more correctly and more securely: >Files are overwritten three times, first with the byte pattern 0xff, then 0x00, and then 0xff again, before they are delete

That's the catch - you don't improve as a sole developer. You can learn a lot, but actual improvement requires feedback. I advise you to start collaborating to Open Source projects, don't be shy. Everyone is welcome and I

Let me elaborate on that. Usually contracts include a probation period. Use it to evaluate your potential long-term employer in the same way the employer evaluates you as an employee. It shouldn't take more than a month to understand t

I can add another thing from my personal experience - if you've just started out and you land in a job where you're the sole warrior or you don't see a single person who's smarter than you, get out as fast as you can. In

Oldest surviving code dates back to 2006. It's a simple PHP script, that generates an Excel file(without the help of any libraries. I was really into not-invented-here then) containing information about banners shown for a week. If it

Quote: "I want to write Python code that spits out the HTML and JavaScript required for these interfaces and I still want to handle all the logic in Python." Substitute Python with PHP and it feels like 2004 again. I think we all

Incredible dedication and a fantastic project. I wonder if a setup made from a FLiR Dev Kit, a Raspberry Pi and the Pi camera would produce similar result?

A dead simple example - scrape data from a webpage that doesn't have an API. You could down the wrong route of trying to parse the HTML and end up implementing a lot of logic manually OR you could use this wonderful library.

What if I know how to code and most of the tools that I can't find can easily be implemented in crude yet effective scripts? Usually I weigh out the cons and the pros and end up creating a simple script/task that I, as a programm

I agree. Every encryption can be cracked given either infinite resources or time. The goal of encryption is to make it (much) harder to eavesdrop on communications, often to a point that it's not feasible to do so anymore. Even if SS7

It's just incredible. Webpages are now filled with such bloat, that there are third party tools popping up to help users combat other third party developer solutions eating up resources on their systems.
