Afaik that's exactly what happened with railguns: they were tested at something like mach 11, but it turned out that they just made nice holes in the targets, instead of delivering the energy to the targets themselves. So the speed had

Exactly. Apparently these people don't stop to think why the majority of books are made in portrait format, and magazines, newspapers and some books split texts in columns.

Eh, sites still just play long videos, but muted—expecting that your attention will be inevitably drawn by the movement, and you'll enable sound. It's just part of all the flashy junk immediately distracting the visitor from whate

We should define a media pseudo-format, or at least attributes for the ‘video’ tag, which would say that the video will play without sound—with it being enforced by the browser and without the option for the user to turn sound on. This way,

Wiktionary sometimes comes handy in such musings, because it has IPA spellings and recordings of pronunciations, and marks the dialects—not always but frequently for more popular words. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/fo

Kinda funny that if I move the ball out of the water slowly, it generates a lot of waves, but if I shoot it in the water or out, it's just a small wave. A few times I was able to yank the ball in or out with no trace at all—though that

A, and by the way. Inevitably with a decent and widespread language you want to use third-party libraries, especially seeing as there are thousands upon thousands of them by now. Well, apparently you can load ‘compiled’ .scpt libraries—pres
