I think I'm looking at an implementation of ifTrue[1], but it's a bit dense to someone who's not familiar with Smalltalk. Maybe you could walk me through it? [1] - http://git.savannah.gnu.org/gitweb/?p=sm

There's a thread running through free will discussions referred to as "ultimate origination". The Free will theorem touches on this as the sibling commenter mentioned. There's a fringe view (also help by some of these ph

I love the idea of generating two parallel beams and leveraging the conductivity of plasma as a sort of "wireless" taser. It's likely not feasible (I'm guessing someone has tried it), and it would be interesting to know

Georgism gets a lot of support on HN, but how exactly would the unimproved value of land be determined? Similar to the appraisal system we have in place for houses, or something different?

For a few years, I've considered the hot hand experiment[1] somewhat of a free will test in the sense that if our choices are not a function of the past then we should have the ability to fake coin flips. It supports idea of free will

I'd love to see the failure modes especially relating to garden path sentences. [1] [1] - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garden_path_sentence

I took some time to think about this because it started off as a feeling and not a list of reasons. For me it's mostly centered around control structures - if, for, switch, case (scala's pattern matching). Clojure's control s

Sure. The syntax is distracting at first, but in my experience after a few weeks I saw past it. It's a non-issue for me at this point and I dearly miss it when writing Scala on another project.

Do you have more info on Earth Mars opposition launch windows? It struck me as odd because a western-quadrature[1] alignment is a decent approximation of a launch window when using a Hohmann transfer from an inner to outer planet in KSP. Th

I used sloccount-clojure to count lines, but before running it I made one change so that it would include .cljc files. Then I summed both robinson and zaffre (0.4.0 branch) seeing as they both used to be part of the same project and have on

I'd consider 16,000 on the small side. For comparison, I've been working on a Clojure roguelike as a hobby project and it's in the ~18,000 LOC range.

Same principle - putting egg in a plastic jar of peanut butter works too. Provided the plastic jar is lightly padded. It takes a lot less padding to project the plastic jar than a naked egg and the viscosity of the peanut butter means that

As someone who uses cljx and leaves "lein cljx auto" and "lein cljsbuild auto" running in the background, how is my workflow going to change when I switch to reader conditionals?
