I've seen this too, and I don't think it's ridiculous at all. But I don't even think the CIA needs to have been involved. Private companies are now entirely capable of running their own disinformation campaigns and meddl

Absolutely! I think a huge part of the problem is that we're saddled with all sorts of baggage from the structures of the past that constrain the ways we think and approach problems. We have very rigid notions of the ways that laws sho

I would argue that there's an incredibly powerful force that drives the consolidation and centralization of systems in modern society: the wholly artificial legal concept of property. We are given a legal right to accumulate control ov

So there’s a ton of money in the economy but no way to actually make it liquid short term short of the fed, indicating that maybe the money on the books has a better chance of suddenly vanishing into thin air than anyone is comfortable with

The calculus changes significantly here given we are talking about a democracy. The group chose this person (by intention or inaction).

Ownership is exhausting. You can only "own" anything by going to great lengths to protect it. Ultimately, you are still reliant on the relationships you have with others and their willingness to respect that it is yours.

Well your brain only does it when you’re starved for glucose, for one. If your brain operated better off of ketones it’s hard to imagine why it would preferentially operate off of glucose when it’s available. But also, have you done it? It

You don’t run an effective propaganda campaign on resources you don’t have yet. The comparison in existing entrenched oil wealth to the money behind climate activism is absurd.

Basic research is never a loss. Even if we weren’t to find a workable solution for nuclear fusion the technology developed as part of the search would almost certainly push forward many areas of physics and energy research.

Who has more to lose here and who has more resources to put towards propaganda and disinformation, climate scientists and green energy companies, or a deeply entrenched $1.7 trillion/year fossil fuel industry?

This attitude probably doesn’t help it in securing funding. Not everything can be solved with more money, obviously, but if we were putting a fraction of the money into basic research that we are putting into the petroleum industry I’m pret

Are we sure that previous sightings are related to modern sightings? If they are then they went up massively in frequency based on reports from pilots, though that might make sense simply due to improvements in our technology.

In this case, the lower fundamental would be something that permeates space (zero-point energy?), so the orbitals that are harmonics of the lower fundamental but not an atom's s orbital would be on other atoms entirely.
