Let's flip this around - is there an especially good reason to name it after a place? Is there some benefit we gain that counteracts the possibility that this will reinforce the existing stigma against Asians for the current situation?

Good luck, byuu! Your emulation work is an inspiration. :) I'm jealous of your Tokyo move - I tried last year but failed to secure a work visa (only time being a college dropout has actually hurt me).

Yeah - everyone says dumb things at one point or another. Maybe some of the callout is warranted, but collating every possible embarrassing thing someone has said is too much.

At my last job, I had a need for high bandwidth low latency messaging over UDP - we started out with raw C structs over a home built reliable UDP library. We ended up laying protobuf on top a year after because it was honestly a headache no

What happens when two different hosts merge at the same time? ...I guess that's what the blockchain is for - to mediate conflicts. Feels gross to me, though.

by a_t48 7y ago
You don't need a separate blockchain (for the actual code stored in the repo). Git already provides hashing. How do you propose to deal with merges across half a dozen different repositories, though?

We need a mortgage and rent payment moratorium nationwide if the majority of the country is expected to just stop working.

There's also Callback cbk = std::bind_front(instance, Instance::method); in C++20. I'm going to ignore std::bind as it has weird conventions. :)

Refactoring it effectively needs some sort of scope guard, too, to run `pfd->Release();` and the like. It's just as much dogma to write C++ like C, avoiding RAII.
