As someone who doesn't drink alcohol it drives me crazy when the only option is to subsidize other's alcohol (because alcohol is marked up so heavily). For people like me a paid-alcohol policy is a feature, not a bug.

Agreed: it is amazing to just have these in 3D. However as someone who doesn't know much about ancient Egypt it would be spectacular to have some kind of annotations or guide to explain what we are seeing.

Agree 100%: agile practices can be great. Hiring a consultant to teach 'Agile' is easy: the change of practices from something completely top-down to something that empowers the people at the bottom is the hard part and some orgs

That's the theory, but that assumes all stakeholders aligned incentives (or it ignores employees as stakeholders). In the real world it is far easier to fire lots of employees than it is to stop paying the bank loan. So being only sort

One problem with this is that most "local" honeys in the USA can be labeled as such even if they are 99%+ non-local honey. Just because it is sold in a farmer's market doesn't mean it is actually local :-(

It depends on how toxic the rest of the organization is. I've worked at places with a healthy culture (very little shielding was necessary) and I had awesome, close interactions with end users and the business side of things. I've

I think it is worth reading the whole essay (The Tyranny of Structurelessness), which does a great job of articulating how if there are no formal levers of power it becomes very difficult for people who don't have power to make changes

Leaving toothpaste residue (containing fluoride) on your teeth is the main thing toothpaste is for. Fluoride changes the chemical properties of tooth enamel to make it stronger. So removing toothpaste immediately after applying it reduces t
