This is perfect. Hopefully I can find some seats in April. My son is going to love it :) Edit: I wonder how to book a ticket, e.g. the 22nd April London to Winchester one?

To me, ML is tending towards religion. Religion in the way of blackbox processing. Seems no one can reason what happens within the network, the number of parameters, the number of layer, the choice of temperature, etc. Or it is just my igno

I did't mean they fix bug. They are to notify "compilation error". They are to triage and tell service team to fix it, rollback the service to a previous version, keep system up. They don't pin root cause, there is alway

Management problem is an engineering problem. Management is how you engineer your organization. I don't know how big the organization the author is working at, too big in my opinion, too big in complexity. What I observe, could be wron

This art is lost the day the usage of your tool become responsibility of not the team creating the tool. Think product/engineering split and frontend/backend/infra split

Physical thing being, well, physical is something magical. Flipping a book gives a different full body experience than reading on screen. I guess similar can be said about seeing moving in cinema or attending music performance.

https://archive.is/Qh4JY I don't know where the notion of "have you read them all" come from. It's like food in the fridge, it contains stuff so I can consume when I want to. It is fun to hoard books too

Edit 2: Actually it took 7 backspace to obliviate the whole family. Tough one. Edit: Oops. I was trying to type emoji into HN comment. apparently it is not supported. I never knew that [emoji of family of 4] takes 5 backspace to eliminate.

Think another example. The sun evolves around the horizon. So are the stars and the moon. The earth is obviously the centre of the universe. Is it not? Now or course we have all the facts and arguments to back up otherwise. But how do we kn

Hi Ben, thanks for responding. I wonder what approach are you taking in serializing DOM changes, is it similar to rrweb [1]? [1] https://github.com/rrweb-io/rrweb/blob/master/docs/serializa...

Good call out. There are a lot of unnecessary complexity plaguing the tech scene. Scalability, microservice, SRE, SPA, unit testing, design system, Restful/graphQL everything. Not saying there isn't a place for them, there is. But

This is the perfect app I'm looking for. Since moving to London, I fell in love with the trees here. Knowing nothing about trees before, I carry a tiny tree atlas with me. It is challenging to look up a tree from a booklet shall I say.

Context matters. How well your product is received, if it exist. How large is your team. How much money can your company bleed, for how long. How large your potential market. How many competitors. It is like microservices. Looks nice on pap

Not knowing is costly. Not knowing what you don't know, doubly so. Consultants are used for different reason. Sometimes for delegation of understanding, which never (rarely?) works.

Thanks! This helped lot. Now having taking a gentle look at svelte, I think it is very smart. Instead of diff-ing the virtual component tree, it is maintaining a dependency of statements behind the scene by providing a reactive declaration.
