Value, no. They're electronics. The value crashes with each new model, because it's not worth buying older when newer is the same price. And because they're ludicrously expensive, the actual amount of value lost is massive. Y

No, and if you aren't going through mental effort, your brain isn't learning. It's just being briefly entertained by the information. You need practice and association building to actually build knowledge and skill.

I think this will be an advantage in near future. There's going to be a lot of burnout and general failure and, if the news are to be believed, even a loss of human ability around and real skills might come in useful. There will also b

Yes. For essentially any problem where a complete solution exists that doesn't use an LLM, it will beat any solution that does in size, speed, energy use, reliability and everything else. Naturally, it's actually complicated. But

In a general case, your own government can literally have a gun to your head if they happen to decide they don't like you. A foreign one needs some extra steps. And governments change. Any one might look benign now, but one election aw

There is still no good way to send or receive such payments that works globally. Let alone one that doesn't mean leaking personal information. This will deter a lot of good users, but not many bad actors, as others have pointed out.

You can take many computers from 1999 and update them to the best software available today. Most phones won't even do that for a few years. And that is security in the real sense of the word, as in "this won't just pull the r

I kind of expect the performance is worse, but one neat thing is that iscsi is a block device, so you could run e.g. disk crypto, volume management or whatever on it. Not to mention any FS. And you don't need to deal with NFS or RPC.

Contracts vary, but here if your employer tells you to do work ("document and deliver a tool that does X") and you refuse, here that's grounds for warning process and dismissal as a breach of contract.
