You can also loan, borrow, trade.. And you end up owning the media even when (not if) a network service is down. Even when the service is completely discontinued.

Sony pretty much lived on two titles IIRC: Final Fantasy and Gran Turismo.

Elden Ring and Fallouts are IMO good examples of games that have done great in this environment. There are people wondering at the art and archaeology(!) and cultures and various descriptions and other lore bits scattered around the games w

Although the common technical meaning of "light" is low resource usage, small footprint and overhead. Opposite of massive or convoluted in the sense of heavy.

Yes. My first thought was that SQLite might actually be the most used and useful "sql" production database ever.

The phrase "criminal intent" comes to mind. No idea if anyone actually cares whether a signal is clearly understandable or not unless you're targeted for some reason.

They'd need to define what's social media and what's an appropriate limit and how it's displayed or enforced. That's going to be an interesting quagmire. Might be nothing but "parental advisory" stickers o

Absolutely not. The kind of stunts they've pulled mean I wouldn't ever base anything I do on Unity (unless I was specifically paid to).

Linear loss obeys Kirchoff's and Ohm's and power laws pretty simply. If you need to lose a certain voltage at a given (max) current, the power lost is P = U * I. For example, 3 V * 0.1 A = 0.3 W. If your LM7812 can run at that ove

Yes, and i586 to i686 was a big generational thing. As was 386 and 486 jumps before. The old generations fell to undesirable category pretty fast. Not so much with Pii to Piii and the few following years. Those were often easy to get and re

There's also a critical difference in the causality flow. Time alone will teach nothing but cynicism. But a lot of things take a long time to learn. Age and time is not a useful predictor by itself, but it's often correlative.

I did that, too. Maybe age 6/7. Didn't get a computer myself until I was maybe 11. I learned from library books and ported and modified the tutorial programs for a class mates computer. Pen and paper, what else was there? It was f

What immediately comes to mind for me is: how much are you holding down? Compare gaming and programming and it's pretty obvious which one is going to be the killer.
