So, in lieu of the new function* syntax, the presence of the yield keyword in the body is the only thing that distinguishes a generator from a regular function, in the current Firefox implementation?

The fact that you must call send() on a coroutine to start it is very confusing -- what distinguishes function from a coroutine? The presence of 'yield' inside a function body magically means calling that function doesn't actually return t

The C64 was more comparable with the TRS-80 Color Computer, which was extremely mediocre by comparison but only modestly cheaper. In fact it kills me they charged $100 extra just for extended BASIC. But I guess in retrospect I'm glad my pa

Yeah -- I knew about the virtual heap arrays, so the GC explanation didn't make sense. I'll dig into it; thanks for the pointers. I think you're right though. Once it's been running a while, it seems OK; so I think it was JIT compilation

The thing about the emscripten version is that their own demos seem to GC-pause constantly on Chrome. I'm assuming the emscripten-generated code is making tons of incidental garbage, but I haven't profiled it or anything; it's all Closur

I'm using box2d (there are at least three box2d javascript implementations; the most impressive is the emscripten port from the actual C++ code: https://github.com/kripken/box2d.js but I'm using an older one for this). I wanted to protot

I absolutely love the idea of this, but the editors are so frustratingly buggy I keep giving up. I've submitted several reports. Also the user-contributed part library so far has been pretty mixed in quality. Mostly it's junk. I hope thi

Here's the code on github which explains the above claim: https://github.com/Dirktheman/rsa-codeigniter-library/blob/m... I count about 570 different primes there, so ~9.1 bits of entropy, but yeah. This is utterly trivial to brute forc

Ah, I see what I was missing: there are four components in the key (r,g,b,a), and each one corresponds to how filled-in each quadrant of the character is. But since each component is 0..16, and the hash table lookup is 256x256, shouldn't p

From reading the fragment shader code, it seems to a) sample a 4x4 grid of 2x2 neighborhoods b) quantize the color to 3 bits per channel (so 512 colors) c) "hash" (not really hashing) the "key" computed from adding up all the pixel neighbor
