I'm not sure. Don't want to be mean, and I'm sure building this was a great learning experience, but it seems more like and excuse to practice Electron than make rsync more usable.

As a human, this sounds great, but as a human with a deadly bee allergy, this doesn't sound great.

I've yet to read an article about Superhuman that doesn't look like it was written by an investor. Was given an invite, which is really just a ticket to purchase this for $30 a month after filling out a questionnaire. Obviously, I

Would you mind going into your Plex server setup a bit? I tried using a Pi before but could barely get it to trasncode anything, and playback was miserable. Now I'm using a Kimsufi server, but I'd prefer to have a locally running

Thoughts on Fedora vs Arch? I've been using Arch on my Thinkpad for a while now, no major complaints, but forgetting to mount my boot before a `sudo pacman -Syu` (full system upgrade) always gets me. P.S. I know that this is a non-issu

The only thing this post did for me was entrench my thought that I'd rather write Rust over Go. As ugly as Rust can be to look at, I'd rather solve this in 5 lines of Rust that make sense than read through any of those Go solution

Planning on making my own Reddit that will have no future plans to be monetized and will focus on the actual users. Who's in?

Agreed completely! This article was the final push for me to start learning TS. I'm really surprised something like this came out of Google.

Just shows how fake all of the "expert analysis" is. It's so painfully obvious that all of the expectations of losses of 15 cents/share were just paid for by either the govt./big oil.

I'm still not sold on gRPC vs JSON/REST. .proto offers me little over a decent development environment around JSON, and it seems to be pretty Google-specific. I'm also wary of adopting standards that come out of Google.

There's a big difference between a Software Engineer and a Data Entry worker. While I (Software Engineer) can definitely automate certain parts of my job, I cannot automate taking an issue from the board, figuring out how to solve it,

May I ask what the nature of the Rust apps you're porting is? I'm currently learning Rust and would be interested in knowing why you're moving away from it.

Just want to chime in here, if you're ok deciding that Google engineers should be quitting their jobs, you should be fine deleting any Google services you're still a part of.

carpie.net has a great set of videos on using a Raspberry Pi as your own home network DHCP/DNS. I set it up relatively quickly and I definitely have a greater sense of control over my home network.

Is there an easy way to do this iOS development on an Linux platform? I have a Macbook Retina from 2012 that's a pain to use because the battery will die unless plugged in, and they don't offer replacement batteries for my model.
