TIL how the Toyota hybrid system works. That's really cool! Now I kind of want to use one in a sailboat - hook up MG2 to the propeller and a little diesel to the engine input.

I'm a big fan of Dissimilar Redundancies (but didn't know that was the term until today) for building system software. Build for various Linux distros, and some of the BSDs. You'll encounter weird compile errors or edge cases

Tool, Weezer, Sublime, RATM, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Blink-182 all put out amazing albums from 96-99. Rose coloured glasses though - I was a teenager at the time.

I've had three different Kobos (two with touchscreen) and never ran into this issue. But the Overdrive issues are infuriating, especially when you miss out on a hold from the library and have to get in the queue again. On popular books

Government auctions are interesting. Not a lot of information on pricing. My dad bid on multiple LCVPs, guessing on a reasonable price for them based on what the engines were worth. Fortunately he only won one of them. If all 4 had shown up

I post this in every FreeCAD thread: If you're going to start designing something with it, use the spreadsheet tool to make everything parametric. You'll save yourself a ton of time as your designs get more complicated. Maybe this

Interesting. In Canada, for federal elections at least, you're assigned to a specific location and station. You can't vote anywhere else. There's a separate process for mail in ballots to confirm you didn't vote in advan
