It is not really meant for self hosting. Newsblur is build to scale and basicly needs 3 servers/envirements (app, db, task) and also Sentry, Redis, Celery, RabbitMQ, Postresql, MongoDB and Elasticsearch running.

There is also Scaleway owned by Iliad (French telecom/isp provider). Even cheaper and they have basicly copied the DigitalOcean Design.

But how good is the quality? I watched the Mozilla Demo and at the 30 second mark the "Robot Hand" distorted the green trees in the Background. Even at 720p@800kbps. Haven't noticed this with other hevc encodes at similar bit

There was also a recent lawsuit where Uber pledged to not use any lidar tech and software from Waymo anymore. Maybe they had to deactivate Lidar.

Maybe you should look at Scaleway. They are as cheap as ovh and look very similar to DO.

I don't think that that is really the Problem. We also know how to teach people something, without knowing how our Human Brain works. The Problem is Companies can select for certain unlawful behaviour, but nobody can proof that later.

Another Idea make Bad Actors more convincing with "stock reactions". Track the face of your actor copy Anthony Hopkins reaction face over it and than use deepfake to get the original face back.

Sorry maybe I used the wrong word "precendence". But there is a similarity and Apple is still beeing sued. And purely a PR move is also misleading.

Bitcoins transaction volume is capped, because of the block size limit. So rising the transaction volume isn't even possible. At least not without Miners aggreeing to a fork. This is also why the prices are so high. Miners have an ince

Are you needing parking spaces at all. I think the big benefit is that you wouldn't need parking spaces in cities at all. "Uber" cars could instead drive to the next passenger. You also could avoid driving around over a ton o

To clarify, HN was only meant as an example. Newspapers have kind of a ranking too. A ranking could be derived from how long and in what spot it is positioned.

I wonder if "Rankings" from sites like Reddit and HN could be considered copyright protected. I think using rankings scraped from the RSS source entry page could result in a better user experience. And give Newspapers back incenti

If people go from owning a cellphone battery with 4 Wh to a 65.000 Wh car battery and a 20.000 Wh home battery, battery production have to be extremely increased.
