Also food companies are allowed to do way more dodgy stuff in USA. E.g. M&Ms can't even sell their peanut-butter version in UK because of additives.

And HTML was not built for GUIs. Does it stop the ongoing madness? No.

It's a new radical management concept: you start replacing pieces of your failing company with other smaller but more successful companies. Start at the bottom, finish at the top. In two years after a series of lay-offs and acqui-hires

My future recruiter and employer are my customers. I can assure you that they are most certainly interested in technologies I am going to use. Welcome to CV-driven development!

What would you do if you were moderately rich (apart from partying, traveling etc.)? I would still code, maybe hire a team to help me.

They are in London. Typical pattern here is hiring a contractor to implement and then using permanent employees to maintain.

I still can't figure out what their business is to be frank. I get the research part but not the monetization part. I guess acqui-hire by design.

Those are 'anonymous' types. I wasn't talking about them. ExampleClass ec = new ExampleClass(); //ec.exampleMethod1(10, 4); // compiler error dynamic dynamic_ec = new ExampleClass(); dyn

You mean those start-ups that were founded long enough to be one of the first to capitalize on these ideas? Like DeepMind that was founded in 2011?

Pick a camp: symbolic or sub-symbolic. If latter then do a neuroscience degree along with a computer science degree. Get an insight while experimenting with biological brain. Make a start-up that capitalizes on your new idea.

I do this as well. Prototyping needs flexibility and unit tests slow down refactoring. If you are familiar with SOLID then your design will be not bad even without test-first approach.

Correct, dynamic languages are very good for scripting and as a glue between components.

So how do you refactor a method signature to swap argument order in Lua? Please don't answer "manually".

1. C# is not as verbose as Java and C++. Latest versions especially. 2. C# supports dynamic typing as well as static. 3. C# and F# are the easiest to mix and match within one solution.

Static typing lets you focus on testing behaviour rather than "forcing" you to test something that machine can figure out for you.

I know both kinds. What would you personally choose: a corrupt government or a revolt that was designed by someone outside of your country with their own agenda?

This is not a revolution. The political type of society is not going to change. The rioters are not supported by the population.

Yes, it's a good option to pick a language with no powerful IDEs (static analysis and proper automated refactoring) as those are harder to move on from later on (IntelliJ IDEA or Visual Studio vs any typical Python/Ruby notepad).

Dynamic typing and it's consequences. It's handy when you start and want to cut the amount of things you have to care (safety).

It's called acqui-killing. Proactive people that were hired are no longer your competitors - for awhile at list. Works if you have lots of cash to spend.

I hope to be a part of generation that will have an option not to die. The current implementation of human body dies eventually and it happens to every mind on this planet, yes this is sad. But things are improving.

The meaning of life is to never die. I hope we will reach this within next few generations. Dead have no choices.
