This bug unfortunately still exists in Safari 14, more than 2 months after being reported to Apple.

I recently discovered that DDG does clickjacking too, albeit in a different way. My blog post: https://lapcatsoftware.com/articles/duckduckgo.html

Wasn't the creation of the internet achieved via significant government funding? Once the funding dries up, it's natural for academics to turn inwards toward more "intellectual" (i.e, inexpensive) projects. If new CS pro

All of the economic criticisms of lockdown just take for granted a Darwinian government policy of laissez-faire, trickle-down economics, which you find in the US, and to a lesser extent in the UK. It's possible to economically survive

Oh dear lord. Hosting and data are so incredibly cheap. I have my own web site that hosts vastly more data than my App Store listing, and it only costs around $10 per month. Moreover, there are other places on the web where you can host app

CDN for your app sounds like a minority use case, a service that could be sold separately. Not even relevant for native-only apps. I don't want Apple to try to justify the 30% with luxury services, I just want them to reduce the cut.

Other prominent indie devs have left the App Store: Panic, Bare Bones, Rogue Amoeba. It didn't change the system, and some of them even came back (with special favors from Apple). Perhaps leaving is a (temporary) solution for Wil Shipl

Maybe, but I find their slogan "Join the movement" to be very strange. That makes it sound like "No Design" is a goal rather than just a fallback.

The reason you're not rich is probably because you didn't single-mindedly pursue riches. Which is smart, because riches are not intellectually interesting. Some money is necessary for living, but the pursuit of wealth above all el

My workaround for this issue is to put Mail app in its own dedicated Space/Desktop. Then it only comes to the front in its own Space, not in the Space I'm normally using.

Yes, and the vague article title was a big reason I submitted this one instead. :-) I thought about submitting the other article with my own title, but I didn't want to "editorialize".

Ah, sorry. I searched HN stories for "eBay" and didn't find anything. Not sure why that story's author chose "This Website" for the title.

Don't suspect, test. ;-) I'm running both experiments. I've tested and compared script notarization to app notarization. You're getting apparently unusual results with script notarization. So the natural next step would

I'd recommend trying this: Download a notarized Mac app, delete any stapled notarization ticket (.app/Contents/CodeResources), and then trace the launch. What do you see, and does the system let you open the app? Does it say

I'm not sure what you're seeing, but that's not what I'm seeing. When I Wireshark both app notarization and script notarization, I see 2 packets of encrypted Application Data sent to Apple (567 and 101 bytes), and 1 pack
