Yep, even if they have to buy a Mac ($600 for a Mac Mini), that's still cheap. I'm glad my parents spent money on my "software habit," which has given me a lifelong valuable skill. I'd do the same for my kids in an instant.

It's a case for better technical documentation, which was later fixed by putting a beveled rectangle around CONTROL and other modifier keys in written documentation. What he attempted to do was technically accurate given the instructions.

This is a noble goal — letting the user and site publisher know what data is collected — however, I don't see what the benefit is to the ad providers or data collectors on the sites, other than that they might possibly be able to simplify t

> As an aside, the "do one thing and do it well" camp is a great idea in theory, but in practice sucks. Big companies make purchase decisions, like it or not, based on big feature lists. Products with big feature lists score better than

Heck yeah, this reminds me why Space Quest's subtitle should be, "you're gonna die." There are so many horrible ways to die in the SQ games... Unfortunately, it appears that inventory disappears on restore from saved game, and there's also

I can correlate the "strongly recommended TI part," having graduated HS in 2001. I used an HP-48GX and yes, at times, it was hard to adapt the teacher's instructions. My friend and I both had 48's, and we helped each other work it out. W

The trick, it would seem, is convincing them that a $0 tool with its faults and crashes is better than a stable $400 industry-standard tool 15 years in the development and that, when billing design time at $80-120/hour, the latter tool won'
