What is apparent to me is that we are moving towards dark factories if the promise of LLMs writing most of the code is fulfilled. So this means that it is less about conversations and it is more about iteration.

I think the math is pretty clear. Today AI is 100% automating the software engineering market. We all know it and it is not evenly distributed with some fields being more impacted than others. However, what is not mentioned anywhere is for

I don't know. This is a very naive version of what reliable AI agents are all about. Reliable means "can it finish the job that was tasked to do". It certainly has nothing to do with state machines.

We looked into it but it id not quite fit what we wanted. Other than that I think it is great software.

I can only speculate why this is possible but if I had to guess it is due to the fact that the external messages are effectively added as "user" type thus appear as direct instructions. And this is far much common then one might t

Haha, we don't use Kubernetes. It is a single large server with plenty of space for runners. It is as simple and boring as it gets. The only fun part is that we use Firecracker for the actual runners. It is provides nice isolation and

The landing page for our latest tool is a static website (exported from nextjs). It has no marketing on it. It just has simple instructions to copy a prompt into ChatGPT / Claude. That's it. I will report back if it works.

I am sure Blacksmith is the easy path if you don't want to do any extra work and I am also sure their solution will scale much better as this is what they do full-time. However, I can share what we did to ease on our GitHub Actions bil

That is the problem. You outline perfectly how a developer sees the situation. On the other hand ephemeral cloud environment with proper security controls makes a lot of sense if the goal is to isolate and control. If everyone was following

In this scenario the malware will not be on the device but in an isolated dev environment on a remote machine. So it will have access to whatever was configured in that repo but hopefully the project is isolated enough to ensure containment

I think web-based IDEs like GitHub Codespaces (but even VSCode with tunnels) is part of the solution because at the very least you can get an isolated dev environment per project. I've been advocating for this for as long as I remember

You can vibe code safely for sure. I am not saying vibe coding is the issue. The issue is that a typical developer might be working on a lot more projects that run concurrently then they used to. And because of the various nature of the pro

We used AI to build our AI platform and now we are using the AI platform to build the tools that we need for AI. :) But no honestly, unfortunately most tools I did for myself are not for hobbies but something that I needed for work... like

Do you know what will be cool? It will be cool to measure models based on their RAW performance and measure them in terms of ROI - not some benchmark but something meaningful like we used this model to solve X. That will be a massive mind s

The way you contain LLMs is the same way you will contain anything else - give it less permission and less scope. Here. I saved you some time reading the article.

AI agents don't need RSS. What they need is some representation in text. The XML/RSS markup is completely unnecessary.

It is nice. But! The reason these tools exist is not because of non-professional developers, but quite the opposite. A lot more professionals are now working on more projects simultaneously- something that was not practical just a year ago.

As usual the more options the better for everyone. While this is not a direct replacement it is good that it exists.
