I've had the Nexus 4 for about two weeks and it's surprised me a handful of times. You really have to use Google services to get full use out of it though. Like adding locations to events in Google Calendar (and, you know, using Google Cale

+1 for getting started on the cheap-ish with Rackspace. Getting a box setup with the built-in DNS is relatively painless. I was using Slicehost for most of my hosting before the merger and haven't had any problems since and the control pane

I've personally had poor experiences with MediaTemple's cheaper tiers when deploying client sites. They may have improved in the past year or so, though.

I'm not sure with this library, but with other solutions you have a handshake endpoint on your server which creates a time-limited, single use token. The browser hits your server which then creates a key on S3 and sends it back to the clien

I mean being able to compile to a .app file on OSX, .exe on windows, etc. TideSDK can do this in a wrapper-type of way like you mentioned.

I've been following node-webkit and AppJS on github for a while and they both look great, though I haven't actually used them. Maybe (hopefully) I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem like you can compile an app to a standalone binary with either;

I don't see how this is relevant. Having a god in your life doesn't exclude you from the benefits of trying and conquering new things in life. Also, a relationship with god probably won't give you sweet quads.

Appears to be very similar to filepicker.io functionality-wise, but has a much cleaner design in my opinion. Good job guys.

+1 for Page.ly. We had a slightly awkward setup (for a multisite blog) but their support was excellent.

This is a really nice project with a very clean interface for browsing art. I've spent hours browsing different categories and links between related works. Their team has also made great contributions to open source projects.

I've used inuit in a couple projects (though not the most recent version) and would highly recommend it. The trend lately seems to be immediately reaching for Bootstrap, which is a little bit shameful for those who might consider themselves

This is awesome. I just started building an app to track misc personal stats (a la Daytum, but with an API) and this will work great with it.

Agreed. Even the concept of a "bad gift" implies that maybe we are forcing the whole gift-giving thing a bit too much.

I somewhat agree. Getting something working quickly with Johnny-five is very satisfying and to someone who is new to arduino/microcontrollers, that's a huge benefit. In many cases, you can potentially save the time you would have spent rese

According to a friend, the most recent version of Sparrow is essentially broken (100% CPU and crashes). I haven't upgraded in a while for this reason, and I'm not expecting that issue to be fixed, ever. That said, I'm still using Sparrow on

I think it's more like Hook.io than Socket.io. One use could be server monitoring or deployment. You can also check out the Hook.io hook libraries to see how that has been used: https://github.com/hookio/hook.io/wiki/Hook.io-Libraries Thi

I'd guess by having a quality product with good design. Time tracking is definitely over-saturated, but Freckle is a simple, powerful product with great design. That makes it makes it much easier to stand out.

I got a Macbook Air a couple months ago and couldn't be happier with it. Traveling with it has been great. And the battery is awesome so I don't even carry a charger when I take it to the office/a cafe. I should point out though that I'm st

I've found the same thing. I'm holding off on implementing some of this stuff (outside of prototypes) because it seems Safari/IE support is missing and there isn't a decent polyfill that I'm aware of.

This is pretty cool. Not to steal dan's thunder, but there is a similar project called git-issues that uses a separate branch instead of a dot file. Might be an approach worth checking out. https://github.com/pjz/git-issues
