Travel. Usually plane tickets open the most doors. I'm happy to save on accommodation and food costs if it means more money to spend on experiences and time with people where I'm traveling.

Just an annecdote, it is possible to regularly get tickets that cheap if using igtv or ouigo. I was in Montpelier last month and found a ticket for 25€ to Paris.

The benefit of an external guid is that it obfuscates counts. I've seen cases where it's possible for a business to track a competitor's growth by watching a public facing user id count increase.
