Moderately miffed that the email they sent out notifying how THEY allowed my password to be compromised included a lecture telling ME how to construct a strong password. Not the time, or place. Besides, they claim it was salted, so it shou

Sounds like someone really wants us to all sign up for BitStamp. Completely unsubstantiated theory: someone figured out how to compromise BitStamp user accounts, but not enough users yet...

I don't think @kyrra was suggesting that Dart would compile completely to asm.js code, just parts where it makes sense (just like normal JavaScript uses asm.js only where it makes sense).

Thanks, I agree with your comments. I was mostly just trying to poke the bear, though ( http://mrale.ph/blog/2013/03/28/why-asmjs-bothers-me.html ) :)

I'm all for simplicity, and, again, this isn't an argument against Dart. But I would still contend that merely shrinking your DOM API surface area is only of marginal significance. Historically, the hardest part of interacting with the D

The problem here is browsers, not JavaScript. Python has evolved much since the '90s, just like JavaScript has. The problem unique to JavaScript is browsers, and end users running browser versions with a decade span in between them. This

If your browser requirements are IE9+, then there's little need for things like underscore (and, arguably, even jQuery) since you can count on x-browser support for things like document.querySelectorAll() and other niceties that jQuery typi

Storm is actually not similar to Hadoop at all. I think this title resulted from a misreading of the README, which states: "Storm is a distributed realtime computation system. Similar to how Hadoop provides a set of general primitives for

I think you're being too hard on JavaScript there. Type coercion, ASI, and function scoping are all language features, not errors. Likewise, eval is not an error; it's dangerous, but it's also a feature (and one that nearly all dynamic/scr

Rockfish Interactive made a mobile app for (and used by) the Mitt Romney campaign. I'm not even sure what "Romney's Agency" means in the title here, but it sounds a bit oversold...

I've been playing around with the Aggregation Framework lately (using the release candidate). The performance seems to be pretty reasonable, especially when compared to similar tasks with the old MR framework. A quick and dirty benchmark n
