From the article: He was scholar's mated a few days earlier, then played with 99% accuracy. What a little man with such a frail ego afraid to look "weak" against one of the best chess players in the world.

This is why high core counts and isolation matter. Isolate the code to a specific core. Assuming everything is working as intended, an exploit won’t compromise other tenants.

It’s in interesting question. I assume they’re using accelerators, and the alternative is a disk or memory hit. It still seems expensive to me. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/rising-cost-llm-based-search-...

Better question: why does a simple search for “What color is a labrador retriever” require any compute time when the answer can be cached? This is a simple example, but 90% of my searches don’t require an llm to process a simple question.

I don’t like this trend of closed source projects releasing on GitHub personally. It makes it difficult to determine the license (which is important) at a glance. Even some projects that offer only APIs on GitHub make it seem like they’re

I’m of the opinion that delusional beliefs are a natural consequence of creativity and imagination. There may yet be a correlation beteeen genius and madness. Take Tesla’s Wardenclyffe experiment. Assuming we don’t believe he would have su

Similar to a mafia coming to your small business and telling you you need to pay to stay open, otherwise they’ll make sure you. Still just the cost of business? Seems more like a power imbalance.

Can confirm. Stood up a test site with SSL on a subdomain recently. Within 2hrs of let's encrypt registration, I was getting hits on file from around the globe with no index defined yet.

True, but not the only method. You’d be surprised how many spammers drop with greylisting enabled.

Related, proofpoint is notorious for this as well. They will block your mail server without cause, forcing you through their process of delisting. Pay and your problems magically go away. Proofpoint was consistently the only block hit.

I know you’re being mildly facetious, but profit doesn’t come from thin air (or does it?). If you spend $.30 to grow and ship bananas and charge $1, that $.70 difference is just a made up number by what you hope is a fair market. A dark p

The real problem isn’t the page load, it’s that it’s visible. If only one picture and a bit of text update, why does the whole screen have to blink?

So basically taking money away as an obstacle? It’s not illegal to copy an application. Look at Instagram’s stories compared to Snapchat. The only difference is that there might be a little less profit incentive now. Perhaps we’ll get so

I’ll add to this: Boot and compute need to be entirely disconnected from one another. If I have a block of storage that boots on one system, it should boot on another. An OS should poll for available services, allow them to define APIs and

What is money really? If I build you a house for $10, then I pay my friend those $10 for a house, then he goes back to the original friend and paid them to build a house, we end up with $10 passed around and 3x magic value added to the econ

Try comparing that pwa to the native app and you'll soon find that most navigation ends up with quasi browser bars that obstruct the UI and slow the experience down. Apple surely does this on purpose to prevent PWAs from being useful.

That’s just building a unit to spec using an fpga instead of a chip fab. If it’s a 1-1 copy, emulation would not appear to be the correct term. If I have a black box chip that takes in 3 bits and spits out 3 based on the input. If I make

I’m imagining a ship with a hole in it and a piece of fuel at the backside where the particles hit. It would slow you down first since you’re tethered to the particles, then the explosion would push you forward. The issue is that the energ

It really is mind-boggling the path we’ve taken. If only mobile phones hadn’t had been so slow when running jvm and flash when they first came out, we might be writing java and flash web apps in NodeJF by today.
