This is the epitome of malicious compliance, and it doesn't even seem very compliant in how the "core technology fee" and the built-in hard dependency on Apple notarizing is handled. Apple will get slapped for this.

Allegedly, it depends if the card can clock down the memory. My 7900 XTX still goes to ~100W when I have two 1440p monitors at high refresh rate, purely based on how many pixels it pushes.

I'd say that would ultimately be a risk Valve takes from writing "Steam Deck verified" on the store page, and one they can pay from their 25-30% cut.

This is simply not true. There's an initial cost of getting your engineers familiar with a codebase, sure, but that's still substantially less than building and maintaining the damn thing. Someone outside the project maintainers w

Early UEFI firmware having quirks like this is pretty common, and it's also not uncommon for the BIOS Menu and other things you'd hope to be persistent (Diagnostics, Secure Erase Tool on Lenovo laptops) to just be boot entries wit

The cache is on a single CCX, yes. Which is why the 7800X3D is so good: There is no second CCX. Another big advantage is that to get them to work, they need to use higher bin chips. CCX overheats easily because the stacked cache acts like a

The 7900X3D is by far the worst value AMD currently offers. It only 6 cores per CCX, but two of them, so not only do you get the scheduling issues of the 7950X3D where sometimes games don't use the X3D CCX, you also only get 6 cores if
