I don't think implicit's were a wart, and AFAIK in Scala 3 implicits effectively still exist but with a different syntax (but not touched it for a while, so may be wrong)

This is a nasty comment, and lacks any references to those github PR discussions. It comes across very much as somebody who has no experience in managing even halfway large projects. I've been writing a compiler and I put in a lot of

Regarding your last paragraph, interesting idea about the compiler doing the work, but isn't RPC/serdes basically built into CORBA or OLE transparently? Never used the former, and the latter was so long ago I forgotten it, but I t

Unlike you I have less than no background in this, most especially in aero, but if the faults were as basic as you've described, that would be not failure but outright engineering negligence.

Reasonable speculation is reasonable. Supposing that belly buttons exists so we could store lint in them is not reasonable. It may well be that we have opposable thumbs to handle tools better. I can't prove it, you can't disprove

Actually design is not hard, it's mainly common sense and iteration + book learning. Where people go wrong is being unable to leave their ego at the door so they insist their design is right and don't look at the facts.
