hmm. I kinda disagree. For a lot of my relatives, WeChat == the internet. I honestly don't know if any of them have actual email addresses. So the alternative to WeChat is not talking to them at all.

This is great if there isn't a blanket ban on VPN's, but unfortunately, it won't work in China. I've had next to zero-luck keeping my own VPN tunnels open for more than a couple of days at a time when behind the great fi

My understanding is that Ben Francis (one of the main individuals behind this effort) is no-longer at Mozilla given the recent layoffs/restructuring. Any idea on how this impacts this project long-term?

Yeah that + consistency/quality. Depending on the market you’re in, there can be such a variation in finding good trade talent. Installing stairs is pretty specialized so if you can lower the bar + increase quality, seems like a win-wi

"Prodigious Rate" -- To put this in context, the latest numbers I saw is about $125 per min of unscheduled delay. It also doesn't take that many delays to wipe profitability to zero.

Just wanted to chime in to say that the Tensorflow 2.0 Dataset Library is nice for this sort of problem. It supports batching, caching, remote fetching, multiple cpu core splitting...etc.

I really enjoyed this write up. Thank you for putting it together. Even as a TF user, I feel it's a really fair assessment of TF vs PyTorch. A quick observation that may not be 100% accurate but still worth mentioning: in some ways TF
