It's crazy to see the way the "modern web dev stack" has progressed over the years. I'm not so confident of whether this is really one that will last in the way LAMPP ever did, but I'm interested in seeing Padrino in particular. These days,

What's wrong with talking about the wave-particle duality? Bear in mind I've never actually had a physics class (scheduling conflicts, my how they've screwed me over) but we did talk about quantum mechanics a bit in AP Chemistry.

Plenty? In public there's definitely just as many women as men. Though I don't see too many around here in total :p

I don't think that's exactly the same comparison. Orbitz, to me, seems much more corporate and doesn't have the same connection with the developer and startup community that these do. That's not to say Orbitz isn't worthy of attention, mere

Windows 8 supports HTML/JS for creating apps using WinRT, but it's hardly usable in any web browser like Enyo apps are. Not to mention the ability for creating apps using .NET or C++ are still very much a possibility--perhaps even preferred

That's actually a pretty interesting story. What'd you decide to get a degree in instead?

This was my immediate reaction as well. But with a bit of consideration, I don't really think this is the case. Interesting connotation though.

I think calling it a drone is a bit misleading. It's a radio controlled model aircraft.

Is this really a problem though? It would seem "Romanians are ___" is a rare search term as it is--the negative terms are likely old and low-frequency, especially in comparison to this recent surge in positive queries.

I don't think this sort of strategy really can work for anyone who wants to do something other than write code (and not really low-level systems programming, either--plain desktop and web apps, perhaps). Science, engineering, medicine, etc:

As an 18 year old and soon-to-be-graduated senior, I am nearly at a loss of words in response to this article. He left high school with little practical knowledge ("HTML/CSS and some Photoshop skills"). To think of jumping into the real wor

LabVIEW! I, too, recall my mixed feelings when I started with it. It's much easier for people who have never programmed before--there's no weird syntax to learn (why can't I use = to compare?)--but I've found resistance in said users not wa

I really do have to agree. I got a Kindle Fire and I love it. I haven't really noticed any "terrible" aspects. It's not perfect but my experience has been good far more often than it has been bad.

I've always loved the idea of speed reading. Does anyone know of some other resources to start doing it naturally? To apply it to a physical book, for example.

I don't know that I like how this article is written. It tries to peg him as exceptionally gifted, yet he's only learning basic chemistry (VSEPR theory and Bohr model) at a state school? They use some fancy sounding words, but I just don't

I'm currently in an AP Statistics class (the only statistics class my school offers--and I didn't take it by choice). There's still plenty of "Why does this matter?" in the classroom, and the sad part is, my teacher doesn't know the answer.

The color scheme is a bit...extreme. To be honest the interface isn't nearly as straightforward, and in a small utility tool like this, that's what matters most.
