Those are new in ECMAScript 2015 (f.k.a. ES6). Check out Kangax's compat table[1] for support. [1] http://kangax.github.io/compat-table/es6/

That is interesting. Since it's private, do you think that there is something about the community that leads to that? Aside from being discovered by a current employer/coworker or fearing that a question is bad, I don't reall

And? Did you read the thread? The complaint centered on trying to navigate to URLs that certain tools (e.g., Jekyll) tell users to hit. I was adding another example. (Looking over it again, I see that SimpleHTTPServer was actually mentioned

That's an interesting question. I think there are a few factors. Meyer was one of the pioneers of modern web development (many people here have mentioned using his `reset.css`). Related to that, many people on HN are or were web develo

I love that I can get no response from GitHub.com, head over to HN, and find an eight-minute-old post confirming that it's down and linking to GitHub's status page. Cheers!

Agreed. I cannot recommend that book enough. It's a natural extension of The Good Parts and should be considered required reading (in the same way that Effective Java is for Java developers).
