If it's anything like the iPhone 5, it'll be the total number delivered into a customer's hands - which will include some pre-orders but not necessarily all of them.

I believe it was changed in the last few years, but it's still pretty uncommon. The only examples I can think of, off the top of my head, are by the supermarkets (particularly those from Asda).

If Nokia has (supposedly) better map data than Google, how much money could be made by licensing that data? Alternatively, how much could be made by creating a map application for the major mobile platforms, and sell it to the consumer dire

This little feature has allowed me to fill in the blanks after more than one drunken night out... Found a new, partial name + a number in your phone the morning after? Use the "find friends" feature to find the rest of the details[^1] to g

Nice site. If I had to nitpick, I'd say put the FAQ above the order form, and would've liked to get at least some sort of representation of what sort of tees I'd be getting. The idea reminds me a lot of Valley Schwag[0], which was doing som

Indeed. I keep seeing these sorts of posts all over the place today... "Ohnoes, App.Net doesn't have millions of users yet - it's a failure." Rubbish. It's been around a month or so, and is only really known in tech-circles at the moment. T

I was told different, by support. I could chose between the 5 year offer, or TextDrive. Reading the forum thread, the refund has been withdrawn - which is a really crappy thing to do to the people who had already accepted that offer.

I concur. Browser version only matters if you're looking at or developing cutting-edge web technologies. For any other users in 99.99% of cases it doesn't matter. Devs do need to know this stuff, and act accordingly. But if the right strate

It is really good. I switched to it late last night, from one of the "premium" themes. I still need to tweak/optimize a bit (particularly the sidebar), but I'm really happy so far. There are a lot of little details I keep finding which were

Your company should say "no" to any service it doesn't trust with its data. Dropbox is awesome, but it's primarily a consumer product. Corporate IT departments are rightfully wary of its spread amongst staff, in case it doesn't have the sec

I'd agree with this. I've always felt G+ was a halfway-house between Twitter and Facebook.

Same thing happening here. There are so far a total of 12 Windows 7 installs in the building I work in (not counting the test machines), 18 across the entire campus, and less than 400 world-wide... out of over 100,000 employees.

You seem to assume the "iPad Mini" hasn't been in development since well before the Nexus 7. Given how short a timeframe (4 months) Google gave the development of the Nexus 7[1], and Apple's supposed "don't release until it's 'perfect'" att

The .js seems to allow for either. I would speculate (after no more than a cursory glance) that using the xmp tag is the Google-indexable method of writing your page? Google should see it as plain text on a web page. Textarea support could

I wouldn't say it's impossible to read on my 4S, but it is certainly not "optimal", due to the table-based layout (with large margins). The page is zoomed out quite far when first loaded. Text is rendered pretty small, even when you double-

I recently moved out of Flickr, and into Dropbox. The only feature I miss from Flickr is tagging, but Dropbox does give me the following: * Control of Folder/Sub-Folder organisational structure * Automatic web galleries, which don't l
