I've tried implementing ima+evm. Not hard to setup but very hard to maintain securely. It would require distros and package managers to support it but every distro is still stuck in the 90's with their anti-pki ideology. Imagine i

Your points are great but SSH is extensible so openid connect support doesn't mean much since you can do it with existing ssh. "Security by obscurity" is only a thing if you're relying on that mechanism for security. Peo

Every thought we have is visual. My theory is some people are in touch enough with their thought process that they consider the thought an image but others focus on strictly on the image coming from their eyes. It's a question of focus

You make a good point! I don't know exactly how the internals of debian's package management work but I do know that it downloads packages from mirrors, probably unpacks the archive, verifies gpg signatures, parses metadata and st

I think it has more to do with desiring control. Black boxes feel like out of control. I can reason about how transport vehicles work for example but if there was a quantum teleport machine that only wants my destination and I get magically

Personally it's harder to reason about systems where you define the desired state and it magically happens, this includes functional languages. I have no idea why people think that is better. I always want to command the system and be

If it's easy why don't they support it instead of watch billions of dollars fly away I wonder. If whatever cuda program you build would run the same on intel or amd, do those offshoot projects really matter?

You know all the drm-y attestation b.s., yeah, don't be surprised when stuff like this accelerates apple and co.'s adaption of it. They can require the cpu to cryptographically verify imessage for it to talk to other clients. I h

Intel's CEO should look into adversarial compatibility. The way you defeat a bigger/stronger enemy is not by attempting to be bigger and stronger than them but by using their strength (CUDA+great drivers) against them.

When I stream 4k from my laptop ffmpeg gets very intense about cpu usage to the point fans are constantly at high speed and it's distracting. I hope this helps in some way. I have a fairly decent specces mid-tier laptop.
