I didn't know that. So let's say I have 4 regular Python threads calling the same function, and in this function, let's say I call numpy.add on the same array (but different parts of the array), then will it actually use diff

The thing is that the current ecosystem (numpy + scipy + pandas + PyCharm) fits our company structure perfectly (very few software engineers, mostly test engineers who are not very proficient coders). And we already have tens of thousands l

I feel like the #1 downside of Python for the last few years is that you cannot take advantage of multiple cores of a CPU easily. Especially when you think it is heavily used in data analysis. We use Python for data analysis as well, and fo

That is indeed true. wxWidgets currently has the old school Win32 style. I think WPF uses different set of controls (but I am not 100% sure). And UWP has a totally different look and feel.

One key difference between wxWidgets and Qt or GTK is that wxWidgets, as far as I know, uses native controls to create the UI, unlike Qt or GTK which draw everything themselves. Qt is really good at imitating a native feeling but wxWidgets

I think Ryzen 5000 series' stock situation is getting better, both 5600X and 5800X has been consistently in stock in Belgium and Netherlands for about 2-3 weeks.

Agreed, that was also my experience as well, the hardest part was not changing our codebase but if we depended on a package that was not ported to Python 3 yet.

There are certainly some cases where even the smallest backward incompatible change would cause serious problems on some systems. Thanks for giving an example, instead of just downvoting.

I think some of the price difference is expected because of the memory difference, 24GB vs 16GB. But for gaming up to 4K that memory difference doesn't matter much. I guess RTX 3090 will perform better on other work loads than gaming.
