Most updates need to reboot once or more, but the final one should have shutdown. Now, don't get me wrong, what the hell is so special about Windows that it needs to reboot for every little update operation?

The exact opposite has started: every single developer with an LLM subscription now has 45 variations of any foundational tool and library, to cater to their weird use-case, because it was easier for the LLM to just modify it rather than ad

Timberborn 1.0 is indeed quite nice! Very chill, and the surprise automation feature drop is a god send.

As of a few months ago I get AI slop tracks in virtually all YTM automatic playlists, after a few normal tracks, so I abandoned the platform entirely. Call me when Spotify and YT collaborate with Deezer on labelling AI music as such. Yes, i

I feel old. Every single millennial versed into computers knows about this convention, which I think probably comes from Windows, back when they paid their employees to care.

Yup, can relate. And not having to get behind the wheel, defrost, maintain the car, park, ... This is so relaxing.

It is not even controversial or anormal. If nobody cares about an infrastructure and reluctantly maintains it only because it _has_ to (e.g. by federal mandate), then yeah, you get bottom-of-the-barrel service and a negative feedback loop (

We do this because using AI makes you immediately lazy in a way that is difficult to put in words but that anyone who tried can relate to. We do this because we were impressed that one time the stars aligned and the output was decent. So

This post is about some highly interactive software with a lot of design decisions, and this thread is about finding whether or not your 20% feature niche is supported. Let's be real, unless some soul somehow had the same 20% as yours

Cheers to cities pedestrianizing school streets even in busy capitals (e.g. Paris). Cars have no place near school entrances. Fix your urbanism and public transportation. Yes, kids in developed countries have the autonomy to go to school by
