I use Arq to backup files on my MacBook - it saves them to my S3 bucket, so even if everyone working on Arq dies (I sincerely hope they don't!) and their servers all explode, my backups are still intact on S3 - which is less likely to go do

Windows 7 is available through direct download, but the presentation / ease-to-buy wasn't as slick as this. Another cool thing it had was that you could upgrade the OS (e.g. from Pro to Ultimate) or activate a pirated version from the OS it

That's not trivial compared to magnetic stripe. I created a credit card reader with £2 of electronics, my laptop, and a freely available open-source program. (And I'm pretty dumb, so it's really easy)

It's the rest of the functionality of a smartphone that drains it sadly, not just the screen. If I turn off 3G and wifi on my SGS2, the battery life goes from around half a day to almost a week!

Regarding the second half, I find that problematic. Sometimes it's very clear to me that English is not someone's first language, and you can often tell what is by the mistakes they are making (for example, "I have been working here since 3

To use an old phrase, I work hard and I party hard. I massively enjoy both aspects of my life, and whenever it gets "out of balance" (not enough working or not enough fun) I begin to feel bad. Everyone has their own balance to find, but I a

The number one problem with passwords is that most websites are not storing them using current state-of-the-art methods that are freely available. Whether or not this is an improvement, it doesn't solve the actual problem - developers aren'

Oh, ok - this has changed since I last tried it. I still don't think it's brilliant that you can't have your software open on more than one machine (several years ago you could at least have Steam open on multiple computers if they had the

I really don't feel this is a good fit. Steam is not particularly great software, it's just one of the best ways to get games onto your machine. It has a lot of competition in the general software market, and plus it doesn't really feel lik

That is up to the games - they can choose to hook into Steam's API for that DRM, or roll their own DRM (or both, thank you Ubisoft), or they can ship without any protection.
