Not OP, but I had a similar experience. Getting to the root of things with CBT caused me to completely change my relationship with alcohol. At this point, heavy drinking has become a clear path to increasing my anxiety, and it’s easy to abs

I started building this last night, can't wait to try it out - hopefully I can stop building it :)

Hey guess what. I didn’t use cigarettes at all for the last 10 years but used ecigs because they tasted good and were fun. It happens too. They could be harmful on balance!

Nonsense. Big advertisers have sub-brands that they love to target. It's not like Coca-Cola corporation is selling a single product. Personal data is a gold mine when it comes time to market individual SKUs.

Many operators are not leakproof and as such will not push down into the RLS query. We had to manually mark the operators as leakproof even though they were not. Operators cannot be made leakproof in RDS, so we had to choose between RDS and

I have done it, you can store data in a transaction using SET LOCAL and refer to it in RLS policies. I wouldn't recommend it though, it ends up being a performance nightmare.

Interesting idea. Logical encoding would give you the updated row, but how would you check it against each query to see if the query needed to be rerun? Sounds tricky.

I can't speak for the author, but having used RLS for authentication I would not recommend it. It complicates nearly every EXPLAIN plain, and it can cause performance headaches in even the simplest of queries. We had to mark many inter

Why scare quote "limitation"? It literally is a limitation, since it prevents me from doing something in code that can be useful at times. It certainly has tradeoffs.

The philosophical concepts were not new to me, but it brought them to life in an interesting way, and allowed me to talk about some cool ideas with my friends who had seen the film.

I'm curious why these libraries aren't embracing web components more. Requiring Vue 2.0 drastically fragments the potential audience.

This may be obvious, but do not under any circumstances run this application on a public port! Any user will have complete access to your machine.

Java didn't go away when the JVM got invokedynamic. JS will be the default language of the web for some time - although it's great that other languages can now be citizens.

I don't think there's any way. There are too many identity aggregators. I think the only way would be to create lots of fake profiles and fake information tied to your name, thereby drowning out the signal.
