I don't see any irony. Allowing someone to stay in your home as a guest is not the same as being paid for lodging. If AirBnB was there to facilitate people to open their homes for non-paying guests, none of this would be a problem. Altho

I'll agree on Huntsman nationally, but he never stood a chance in the Republican party. He's too close to center (like pre-2008 McCain) and he didn't satisfy the minority, but influential, extreme right. There are plenty of good Republican

As someone who was a non-appointed CDO at a company (only because no one else had the backbone to say no) my performance reviews were fine. However, it's a thankless job because it needs to be done and the higher-ups expect someone to do

Agreed. I'm not sure how 'Source Code Version Control' and 'Build Automation' is anywhere near the words 'Software Engineering'. And 'Automated Testing' isn't a given at a lot of shops. Professionally, I've never set up version control.

So assumptions aside, once you've vetted the person (a woman in this case) through an interview and they seem to be the real deal, what would be the deciding factor at that point? People can exploit any number of traits to help them accompl

To level the argument, let's just say that everyone has the same skill for a position. You can probably assume that there are a lot of equally qualified 'A' players who have applied at Google, Valve, Facebook, etc. So what sets all of the

I'm saying you are clearly seeing a generational and tech savvy bias to the rankings. For Avengers to be so high shows it's good movie, and it is. But the fanboyism of the comic-reading, tech savvy audience is skewing the metric way highe

The problem with that is there is so much good stuff buried way too far down the list. Outside of the top 5% I could find a fair amount of movies and TV that I know would appeal to many individuals.

The problem with these rankings (assuming they are from IMDB) is that they are more friendly to contemporary, Internet-age movies and TV. Anything older than about 30 years is significantly down further in the list. As an example, I can't
