Depends on the plastic and the wall thickness of the part. We don't know what the requirements actually are, but I bet they would be a way to make 4 times as many parts in a cycle half as long if you had to.

I would have expected we are close to steady state. The number of companies cyclically migrating too/from the cloud seems unlikely to decrease.

They don't want to focused on price if one machine is using bulk pellets and the other UV resin. It is many orders of magnitude more then 4x and much larger over the lifetime then the initial purchase price. Not to mention an injection

The video chooses a very slow injection moulding machine; creates a mould that only produces two parts per cycle even though the machine could clearly handle far more; then has to use four of their machines and a human to match its pace. Ye

So 500 cycles on the injection moulding machine and 42 across the 4 3D printers. Yes, this is super impressive; yes, if I wanted <1,000 of something I am probably going 3D printer (cheaper, more flexible, less lead time) but it is still

Not a hot take. Even if you had impossibly perfect laser projectors, you do not have anywhere semi decent to project them.

They have got really positive (relatively) reviews though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TitZV6k8zfA "The Worst Product I've Ever Reviewed... For Now" at least a different league then the other scams listed.

Yes; writing the wrong name on paper is certainly a "pen and paper error". The only difference is this has never implied it was the paper's fault. "Computer error" only implies bad software because it is so often du

We need to get to the point the very least likely response is "I am sorry Dave I can't do that". Obviously, I am not going to ask Alexa to take out the rubbish; but any reasonable request needs to have a >>50% chance of

Which is why they are vastly better whilst in the middle of a tricky migration, especially if it is going badly, and especially especially if it is being done by the most expensive contractors.

Meter is defined as how far the light travels in a vacuum in 1/299792458th of a second. The actual speed of the light in a vacuum is fixed, so unless you have identical seconds the distance of the meter changes. If you have identical s

I don't know of any official source. But reading between the lines: Murati also told the Journal that Sora is “much more expensive”. And just how few sample videos they have output. The point of AI generated content is you _never_ need

Most investors are fairly sure the dot-com bubble burst; but it recovered well, and obviously there were still winners. The last two times the AI bubble burst also did not stop us getting here.

Whilst we are certainly in a hype bubble (AI's third) and there are some indications it may lead to the third AI winter, the two possible outcomes are this bubble doesn't burst, or a future bubble doesn't burst. The long term

I love this sort of project; and it is really impressive. However, as the article quotes, but the headline misleads. This is not about making a practical GPU free to all. Mesa's Software rendering is vastly better and more useful if yo

Purchasing power only makes sense on a per-capita level; it measures on average what you can by with the sorts of money you can carry. The price will not be the same if the entire country's GDP tried to buy the same goods.

Krita defaults to a "Paint Layer" behaving very like Photoshop; it can also add "Vector Layers" that behave like Illustrator. I think it is fair to say it replaces both for a lot of use cases. GIMP is much closer to just

From MS's POV they have just replaced the HTML renderer in Outlook. They just took the opportunity to drop some hard to maintain legacy code (COM compatibility) and "improve" the UX in ways people predictably hate.
