A paragraph and a half in, this rant turns away from "This page doesn't validate" to "Apple is doing it wrong." It sounds a bit like you're being anti-Apple for the sake of having something to rant about. Pretty much every one of the errors

If you want to talk about tested and battle-hardened code, make sure that you really have the older API :) Foundation (and, by extension, NSHTTPRequest and NSURLConnection and such) is a few years older than cURL is. Foundation is really a

JSONKit is less stable than yajl/touchjson/json-framework is. I was seeing 2-3 crashes/day in it when I last tried using it[1], switched back to yawl and haven't had any crashes in json parsing since. 1. About three weeks ago.

In that case, it is very weird that one sample (Lua) specifies the bounds of the UIWindow while the other is closer to the default setup and does not specify the bounds (Objective-C).

- If you remove the boilerplate, you can likely get the Objective-C version down to about 40 lines.[1] - Can Lua/Wax not use IB? The Objective-C version uses IB to lay the views out, while the Lua version seems to lay it out manually? It do

Is it not possible for a site to go downhill over a period of time? Ie: it is possible that the network was good when you were younger but no longer.

Been doing iOS dev for a few years, friends with many others who have been doing the same. Sometimes things suck. But, not usually. How is this any different from relying on Google to "guarantee" a base minimum to dev against… that seems t

It wasn't planned. When we initially sat down to plan the schedule out two months ago, I thought there was enough time to get the iPhone app done. Without that intense of a workload. And then some bugs more serious than I (or any of us) had

Why the down vote? Ampersands are awesome. What other character has so much variety on a font to font basis? Most characters are basically the same, give or take serifs, thickness and small curves[1]. An ampersand can look completely diff

Even if it's not a root exploit, though, there's no cause for celebration. Handy Light shows that the App Store process can sneak major, prohibited functionality onto users' devices in the guise of a clearly useless and trivial app. Any c

So I strongly suspect that our programming ability is related to our capacity for being pedantic, as annoying as that may be socially. Just like all tall people are good at basketball? Being a pedantic nit has nothing to do with one's abi
