Historically a lot of progress was made in these areas and what they are able to do is amazing, but I dissagree that it is necessarily harder today. Many engineers in all disciplines do things that are relatively easy and some of them also

I generally buy books that came out recently (but pirate 10+ year old books) and the first thing I do to a new book is crack the DRM so I can just save an EPUB that I can read where I want to read it, when I want to read it.

Dns blocking is exactly like that. I don't live australia, but if I go to the piratebay for example with my isp dns I get a message it's blocked. If I change to google or cloudflare dns it works just fine

How would it not make a difference? If you calculate an index at runtime, to get access to the element, in 0 based would be pointer + index. In 1 based it is however pointer + index - 1 clearly there is an extra subtraction there? In x86 yo
