(I was the tech lead for this proposal) How would this be useful for a JS0?

FWIW, that's also more or less what SpiderMonkey has been doing for ~25 years (and I presume other JavaScript VMs).

Pretty sure that Daemons (and all other supernatural creatures from Greek myths) would be frowned upon by a religious inspector from any Abrahamic religion.

Fun fact: Father Christmas (aka Santa Claus) was put on trial in France in the 1950s, then burnt on a bonfire (in effigy), for leading good Christians away from Christmas and towards consumerism.

I remember seeing Muslim and Jewish descriptions of the Devil in various stories, they didn't particularly look like a horned man with a pitchfork. Not sure where that comes from.

A browser written in HTML on top of a rendering engine? Mozilla had one a while ago: https://github.com/browserhtml/browserhtml . I'm sure it could be updated.

On the other hand, we can wipe our civilization (with or without AI) without needing anything as sophisticated as Skynet.

Sadly, it's not the real statistics. Also, it's not really good.

It's interesting, because FSD has probably driven a billion miles, but I couldn't find any useful statistics yet. So... I think it's a bit early to start believing the hype :)

But isn't it the case that Waymos are actually usable (for this purpose), while FSD/RoboTaxi isn't? Geofencing sounds like a good idea to me. It's a mean to roll things out carefully, while minimizing risk of death. If a

Many of these components have been made part of the ecosystem long after they were introduced in Firefox. Also, the more platform-specific you go for each component, the more you're going to introduce subtle incompatibilities between F

Having done concurrency in Java and Rust, my experience is that Rust's concurrency primitives are an order of magnitude better than Java's. I haven't tested C#'s.

Come on, I had to outbid Ada somehow :) For what it's worth, Python was also considered at some point for use in the Firefox codebase. I don't remember the rationale for not adopting it, but I think the idea was "we all like

A long time ago, the possibility of using Java or C# in Gecko (the core of Firefox) was pondered. Java was rejected because of the huge memory requirements and the unpredictable (and sometimes lengthy) garbage-collection pauses. C# was reje

I worked on Firefox to make sure that it kept working (and in particular starting up and closing) when you reached several thousand tabs :) Might not have been a good idea in the end :)

Looks like the stuff of dreams and nightmares for a ADHD user. Am I the only one who regularly ends up a browsing session with 300 tabs? This feels like a feature I'd overuse, and which would only make my life much worse.

I posit that programming is vulnerable, because upper management does not realize that even the most sophisticated AIs can only barely do the simplest jobs of junior developers. Of course, they're going to destroy their companies when

In my experience, C <-> Rust works quite well, except when the C API relies too much on macros. C++ <-> Rust is much more annoying.

Answering in case this is not humor: no, it isn't. From the top of my head, quantum entanglement is something: 1/ that happens at quantum level, so typically with measurable effects on a scale smaller than one atom (way smaller th
