The "Why it matters" section is interesting. Cynically I'm trying to think of commercial uses of this for FB. I'm thinking if you built a device that you could put into public places, restaurants, or stores: * People cou

I love this quote from the article: > The novelist Paul Theroux has said that he writes long-hand because, “The speed with which I write with a pen seems to be the speed with which my imagination finds the best… words.”

The line between a small subreddit struggling to get enough posts and then getting big enough to have drama is so fine these days.

The best part is when carousels show up on game consoles or kiosks when you're trying to log in or something that makes what you're trying to do impossible.

I second this. I've been a part of board meetings where I'm impressed how efficient and timely things can get if you use these rules.

How about letting developers pick or come up with their preferred way of working instead of mandating Scrum?

The same thing appears to be happening with Scott Adams (author of the Dilbert comic strips).

I have a vision for what could end up happening. We will see a bifurcation of Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and Reddit into a conservative and liberal version. There appear to be many (apparently unsuccessful) attempts right now to do exactly

As a former dedicated tester and now developer, I feel that dedicated QA may not be as useful in the way software is developed these days. I like to view TDD as "requirement-driven development". If you think of it that way, if you

Very interesting post. One thing I'm thinking of is if an enterprise uses something like Slack then you could have persistent video rooms similar to the audio rooms in Discord. The last paragraph makes a good point though. As good as S

I remember the transition from iOS 6 to 7. It definitely initially looked modern but I still sometimes have difficulty distinguishing between a label and a button.

Bummer. Streaming from the Xbox was easy and fun. You could stream a multiplayer game with your friends! Friction was reduced to stream and you didn't need to mess with stream keys or overlays. Sad.

Went down the rabbit hole because of point 2 and ended up at some Chrome experiments. There is some amazing stuff like that out there. I can't believe there aren't more browser-based 3D games.
